Akwa Ibom: Governor Eno Challenges PDP Leadership To Secure Political Gains

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has urged Elder Aniekan Akpan, the reelected chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his Executive Committee to strive for new accomplishments and broaden the party’s membership base.

Governor Eno made this call during his address at the State Party Congress, held at Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday. He congratulated the new executive committee on their election and emphasized the importance of expanding the party’s reach.

Eno also expressed gratitude to the outgoing EXCO for their role in securing victories in recent elections and called on all party members to support the new team, especially in preparation for the upcoming local government elections on October 5.

The governor acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, and other key figures involved in organizing the congress, praising them for their efforts in ensuring a successful event.

In his remarks, former Governor Udom Emmanuel praised the party’s leadership for their role in supporting Eno’s victory in the 2023 elections.

Elder Aniekan Akpan, in his acceptance speech, committed to working with the new EXCO to uphold the party’s success and to focus on securing Governor Eno’s re-election in 2027.
