Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, has revealed the unexpected source of inspiration behind the decision to undertake repairs on Atiku Abubakar Way: a WhatsApp message shared with him during a church service. Speaking at the inauguration of flood control and road projects along Atiku Abubakar Way in Uyo, Eno emphasized the importance of engaging constructively with the public to effectively govern.

The projects unveiled encompassed significant infrastructural developments, including the construction of a 1.3-kilometer underground flood control tunnel and the reconstruction of sections of Atiku Abubakar Way and Afaha Ube Street, both in Uyo. Reflecting on the genesis of these initiatives, Eno recounted how a photograph depicting the road submerged during heavy rainfall prompted immediate action.
