Aliko Dangote, the billionaire entrepreneur, was visibly moved as he expressed his emotions while commemorating his late friend and mentee, Herbert Wigwe. The poignant moment took place at the Celebration of Professional Excellence on March 4, where attendees gathered to honor the former bank chief. Herbert Wigwe tragically lost his life, along with his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizzy, in a helicopter crash on February 9.
The event, held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, served as a platform for friends and business associates to reminisce about the remarkable accomplishments of the late banker. Notable figures such as Aigboje Aig-Imokhuede, Gov Dapo Abiodun, Femi Adesina, as well as Wigwe’s staff, former secondary school mate, and others, paid tribute to the 57-year-old.
