Allegations Against Wike: Inko-Tariah Says Governor Wants To Establish Godfatherism In Rivers StateIn the wake of the local government elections in Rivers State, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Nyesom Wike, has recalled the statements made by the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) regarding godfatherism.

In an interview with ARISE NEWS, Inko-Tariah described the election results as a victory over the entrenched influence of political godfathers. He emphasized that the people of Rivers State have clearly indicated their discontent with political manipulation and interference by these so-called godfathers.

Inko-Tariah expressed his disappointment that Wike, who once condemned godfatherism, now seems to be attempting to impose it in Rivers State. “We have put an end to the issue of political monstrosity,” he stated, adding that “the venom of a viper can do nothing to the back of a tortoise. It is not all about being licentious and braggadocious. Action speaks louder than words.”

He believes this situation serves as a lesson to future political godfathers, illustrating that Nigerians are fed up with godfatherism in the country.

Inko-Tariah pointed out, “The FCT minister was the same person who, while serving as minister, stated that what happened in Lagos State with Ambode would never occur in Rivers State. I have the tape here. He claimed he would never impose a governor or dictate to his successor, stating that once he was out, he would simply go and rest.”

“I am somewhat surprised that the same individual who issued these warnings and made these declarations is now the one attempting to impose godfatherism in Rivers State,” he concluded.
