AMVCA 2025: ‘Lisabi,’ ‘Seven Doors,’ ‘Anikulapo’ Among Top Contenders For Major Awards

The nominations for the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have been revealed, with Lisabi: The Uprising and Seven Doors emerging as top contenders.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lisabi: The Uprising, directed by Adedimeji Lateef, led with an impressive 10 nominations, including Best Movie, Best Actor, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Indigenous Language Western Africa. Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors followed closely with eight nominations, including the newly introduced Best Score/Music category. Other notable nominees include Skeleton Coast, Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, and Inside Life.

This year’s AMVCA will showcase 28 categories, consisting of both voting and non-voting awards, along with two special recognition honors. A distinguished panel of judges, led by renowned film director and producer Femi Odugbemi, will select winners in 18 categories, while fans will vote on the remaining 10 categories via the Africa Magic website, with voting closing on May 4.

The 2025 AMVCA will take place over four days, from May 7 to 10, celebrating excellence in African film production, culture, fashion, music, and other entertainment sectors.
