A press release issued by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest of the four suspects. According to the statement, the personal belongings of the deceased, including his handset and ATM card, were recovered from the apprehended individuals. The suspects, during their confession, implicated four other accomplices who are currently being pursued by law enforcement.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, commended the collaborative efforts of the Police in Ogidi and Umuoji Vigilante, highlighting their effective teamwork in apprehending the suspected perpetrators. CP Adeoye has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department to deploy its Forensic Team to take charge of the investigation.

The police command has assured Presidents-General throughout the State that their safety remains a top priority, emphasizing their role as representatives of the people in local governance through town unions. The ongoing efforts to bring all involved individuals to justice demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement to maintaining the safety and security of the community.
