Angry Mob Sets Suspected Kidnapper Ablaze In Delta

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, the Alihame Vigilante Group successfully captured nine individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping at an unfinished building near the Oriri axis, Agbor-Obi. The intervention followed a distress call from a concerned resident in the area.

The incident drew attention from residents across the community when the vigilante group apprehended the suspects at Board Road, Alihame. Promptly, the Alihame Vigilante Group informed the police of the situation.

During the transportation of the suspects to the police station, a member of the mob seized one of them and forcibly removed him from the police van. In the ensuing chaos, the suspected kidnapper fell, hitting his head on the asphalt road. Seizing the opportunity, the angry mob attacked him, setting him ablaze before the Alihame Vigilante Group and the police could intervene.

Among the confiscated items were six rifles, ammunition, daggers, mobile phones, and various clothing items found in possession of the suspected kidnappers. The exhibits and the remaining suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

The situation unfolded in Delta State, causing a tragic turn of events amidst the apprehension of the alleged kidnappers.
