Annie Idibia Reacts After Viral Video Sparks Fresh Reconciliation Speculation

Speculation about the former couple reuniting began circulating online last week after an old video showing them enjoying themselves at a nightclub resurfaced on social media.

The viral clip also fuelled claims that Annie and 2Baba were back together, with some social media users even alleging that the actress was expecting a third child with the singer.

Reacting to the rumours via her Instagram Story, Annie dismissed the claims, stressing that the videos making the rounds were old and that false information was being spread.

“Old videos circulating everywhere, false news everywhere,” she wrote.

Annie and 2Baba, who share two daughters, announced the end of their marriage in January 2025 after more than a decade together.

Following the separation, 2Baba went on to marry Edo State politician Natasha Osaworu.

Meanwhile, Annie recently addressed criticism she received online over a comment she left on a social media post celebrating the birth of a child to celebrity fashion designer Luminee and actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha.

The backlash began after news broke on Monday that the couple had welcomed a baby.

Annie was among those who congratulated the new parents, leaving a simple heart emoji under the announcement.

However, her gesture sparked outrage from some social media users, who criticised her for reacting to a post involving Baba Ijesha, citing his previous conviction in a child sexual assault case.

Responding to the criticism, Annie said she was surprised by the backlash and admitted she was confused by the reactions.

According to the actress, she was unaware of any controversy surrounding the couple and only congratulated Luminee because of a brief professional relationship they once shared.

She explained that Luminee had designed a dress for her a few months earlier, which was the extent of their connection.

Annie said she merely saw the birth announcement on her timeline and left a heart emoji to congratulate the new mother, insisting she had no knowledge of any personal issues involving Luminee or her relationship with Baba Ijesha.
