Anti-Ganduje protesters Attacked By thugs At APC headquarters
Reports have emerged of an attack on demonstrators calling for the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Daily Trust, the protesters were marching from the Valential Hotel area of Wuse 2, Abuja, toward the APC national secretariat on Blantyre Street when they were confronted by thugs wielding sticks.

The attackers targeted the protesters, seizing their banners and placards, and some demonstrators were physically assaulted. Despite the presence of security operatives at the entrance gate to the APC secretariat, no intervention was reported during the incident. The protesters managed to retreat with only three banners remaining, one of which bore the message “Dr. Ganduje, kindly resign and face your prosecution in Kano.”

Following the attack, the demonstrators regrouped at an open location in Wuse 2, where their leader, Hamisu Suleiman Sardauna, urged key stakeholders within the party to take action against Ganduje and ensure the return of the national chairman position to the North Central region, in accordance with the zoning arrangement of 2022.

Sardauna emphasized the peaceful nature of their protest and condemned the violence perpetrated by the unidentified thugs. He called upon prominent figures such as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC governors, and other critical stakeholders to support their cause as outlined in the APC constitution.

The demonstrators reiterated their demand for justice and stressed the need for the replacement of Adamu, the former national chairman, to come from the North Central region. Sardauna highlighted the injuries sustained by some protesters during the attack and denounced​⬤
