APC Breaks Silence On Shocking Defection Of Oborevwori and Okowa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally welcomed Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa, and several prominent figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into its ranks.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, hailed the defection as a significant political milestone.

According to the statement, Governor Oborevwori’s move is accompanied by Okowa, key government officials, members of the State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, councillors, and a large base of grassroots supporters—all aligning with the APC.

“The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, led by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, is thrilled by the decision of Governor Oborevwori to join our great party,” the statement read.

The APC assured the defectors of full support and integration, emphasizing that their entry would bolster the party’s strength in Delta State and enhance national development under the current administration.

“We are excited that Delta State is now strategically positioned to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and bring greater prosperity to the people of Delta and all Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
