APC Chieftain: The Most Disorganized Political Parties Are Details 

Efe Onfobruku, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that lawmakers defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) to his party are making the right move.

The former PDP governorship candidate in Delta State described the PDP and LP as the most disorganized parties in Nigeria.

In an interview with News Central on Thursday, Onfobruku explained that the Labour Party is deeply divided between the factions led by Julius Abure and Nenadi Usman, making any legal actions by the party ineffective.

On the PDP, he mentioned that the party is fragmented due to competing interest groups.

“Right now, the most disorganized political party in Nigeria is the PDP, followed closely by the Labour Party,” Onfobruku said.

He went on to question the legitimacy of the Labour Party’s legal actions, saying, “When you hear that the Labour Party is going to court, I wonder which faction is going—Abure’s or Usman’s. Today, we have the Labour Party of the past, under which Peter Obi ran for president, and then Peter Obi’s Labour Party, with Nenadi Usman as acting national chairman. So, which one is going to court? It’s a waste of time.”

On the PDP, he remarked that the party was beyond repair, saying, “PDP is dead on arrival, completely scattered. If you are in a party where you give your all but it is determined to ruin you, it’s only right to leave.”

Reflecting on his departure from the PDP, Onfobruku likened his exit to escaping from Egypt, saying, “For those of us who left PDP and joined APC, we see PDP as our Egypt. I personally left Egypt two years ago, and many more are still there.”

Regarding the defection of Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, the House of Representatives member for Ethiope East and West, Onfobruku claimed that there are no true PDP members in the constituency. He explained that except for the local government chairmen and councilors, all other PDP members in the constituency are actually working for the APC.

“Anyone who calls themselves a PDP member in Ethiope federal constituency today is just a pretender. The only true PDP members are the local government chairmen and councilors in both Ethiope East and West. The rest are all APC, 100%. They are all working for APC,” he said.

He emphasized that the APC is making strides, stating, “What we did on Tuesday was just a preview. The next election will reveal the full impact of what we are doing. What happened on Tuesday was just a test run, and there is more to come.”
