The South-South Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised Asue Ighodalo against appealing the tribunal’s decision that upheld Governor Monday Okpebholo’s victory.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking to Arise News on Thursday, APC South-South Zonal Organising Secretary, Blessing Agbomhere, stated that any attempt to challenge the tribunal’s ruling would be a futile effort and a waste of resources. According to Agbomhere, since the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate could not substantiate their claims in the tribunal, which serves as the court of evidence, they would not succeed in any appeal, even at the Supreme Court.
Agbomhere emphasized that many people in Edo State and across the nation are celebrating the APC’s victory and the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State. He advised Governor Godwin Obaseki and Asue Ighodalo to move on and avoid further attempts to contest the judgment, as Edo people would not support any perceived desperation to reclaim the government.
Agbomhere praised Governor Okpebholo as a blessing to Edo State, highlighting his commitment to good governance and the positive changes in the state, particularly in the education sector. He noted that even President Bola Tinubu had commended Okpebholo’s efforts in improving education.
Furthermore, Agbomhere suggested that rather than pursuing an appeal, Ighodalo could collaborate with the governor to serve the state. He stated that Okpebholo is open to working with Ighodalo and could appoint him as a Special Adviser (SA), Personal Assistant (PA), or even a councilor if Ighodalo genuinely wishes to contribute to Edo State’s progress.
Agbomhere concluded that true patriotism would be for Ighodalo to support the current administration, bring his ideas to the table, and work together for the betterment of Edo State.
