During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday evening, Morka emphasized that the APC has not made any official decisions regarding the vacant positions of National Chairman and National Secretary within the party.

Reports had surfaced suggesting that President Bola Tinubu had endorsed Ganduje and Basiru for the respective positions. However, Morka dismissed these reports and stated that until the National Executive Committee (NEC) addresses the issue, nothing can be confirmed.

Regarding the procedure for replacing the vacant seats, Morka expressed hope that it would be done soon, and the issue of vacancies in the National Working Committee (NWC) would be discussed during the NEC meeting.

Morka also criticized the position taken by former National Vice Chairman of the Party, Salihu Lukman, who resigned his position on Wednesday.

Lukman had claimed that the party was violating the APC Constitution’s provisions for replacements. Morka countered this, stating that no official procedures for replacements had been initiated yet, and discussing it prematurely was speculative.
