In a press briefing held in Osogbo yesterday, Barrister Ayodele Kusamotu urged party members at all levels to collaborate harmoniously for the collective benefit of all members and the party as a whole.

Expressing disappointment, Kusamotu lamented that some party members, despite claiming to uphold virtuous values with the “Omoluwabi” ethos, were not adhering to these principles, calling for corrective action or sanctions.

He emphasized, “Progressives are democrats leaning on the left side of the political spectrum. An Omoluabi is a well brought up Yoruba person that obeys rules.” Kusamotu argued that certain members within the APC, identified as Omoluabi Progressives, exhibited political anarchy and a lack of teamwork.

Highlighting constitutional principles, he stated, “While Section 40 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution guarantees freedom of assembly, it does not derogate from the rights of INEC over control of political associations.”
