APC Fires Back: Dele Momodu Has Appointed Himself ‘Strategic Adviser’ To A Confused Opposition

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a swipe at former presidential candidate and media mogul, Dele Momodu, describing him as a “self-appointed strategic adviser to a confused opposition.”

The party’s response follows Momodu’s recent suggestion that opposition parties should adopt ethnic and religious strategies ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the APC dismissed Momodu’s advice as laughable, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s performance cannot be undermined by divisive politics.

According to Oladejo, Momodu lacks the political credibility to offer lessons on electoral strategy, citing his history of failed political pursuits.

The statement read:

“The party notes with characteristic amusement the latest outburst from serial political tourist, Mr. Dele Momodu, who has suddenly anointed himself as a strategic adviser to a confused opposition, urging them to play the ethnic card since, in his own words, ‘Jonathan and Obi can’t defeat Tinubu.’

“While we appreciate his admission that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains politically unstoppable, we must question the audacity and credentials of a man whose political journey is a long tale of misadventures, experiments, and failed auditions for relevance.”

Oladejo further ridiculed Momodu’s political influence, describing it as limited to social media chatter rather than real political impact.

“If anything, Momodu should be the last person to speak on winning strategies. His record reads like a manual on how not to win elections—loud on commentary, empty on substance, and constantly seeking validation from political heavyweights who never take him seriously.

“It is comic relief that someone whose political relevance is confined to social media timelines now presumes to dictate the opposition’s roadmap to 2027. Nigerians are wiser—they now value performance, vision, and consistency over empty rhetoric and ethnic manipulation.”

The APC spokesperson concluded by advising Momodu to focus on finding his own political direction before offering counsel to others.

“If the opposition truly wants guidance, the first advice should be to stop listening to those who have never won even a councillorship election. The reality remains that, come 2027, the opposition—individually and collectively—will once again face inevitable defeat.”
