In a statement released on Wednesday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the reports circulating across social media and various platforms as false, misleading, and without any official backing.

Under the timetable released by the party, the House of Representatives primary election is slated for May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary will follow on May 18.

The State House of Assembly primary election has been fixed for May 20, with the governorship primary scheduled for May 21.

The presidential primary election will then round off the exercise on May 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, the APC has already begun screening incumbent governors seeking participation ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

Among the governors screened were Abba Yusuf, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Nasir Idris, Caleb Mutfwang, and Hyacinth Alia.

Others screened by the committee included Sheriff Oborevwori, Umar Bago, Dauda Lawal, Bassey Otu, and Ahmed Aliyu.
