Nwoko, a current lawmaker from Delta North and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently declared his intention to defect to the APC.
Nwaoboshi urged the APC national leadership to scrutinize the reported preconditions set by Nwoko for his defection, emphasizing the need to prioritize the party’s constitution and democratic principles over individual interests.
Nwoko announced his resignation from the PDP on Monday, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership in Delta State.
In response, Nwaoboshi alleged that Nwoko’s move to join the APC was motivated by personal ambitions rather than genuine patriotic intent.
“I have received information that Senator Ned Nwoko is allegedly conspiring with certain elements in the Presidency to dissolve the Delta APC executive structure, from the state level to the wards, before their tenure ends,” Nwaoboshi stated.
“This plan is unacceptable and threatens the stability and unity of our party in Delta State,” he added.
Nwaoboshi called on Nwoko to desist from meddling in the Delta APC’s internal affairs and to respect the party’s established processes.
“Any further attempts to destabilize the party will face strong resistance from myself and other concerned stakeholders,” he warned.
The former senator also appealed to the APC leadership to reject Nwoko’s alleged demands to dissolve the Delta State executives.
