He claimed that Governor Yahaya Bello is organizing the influx of troublemakers from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo States to disrupt the elections.
Responding to these accusations in a statement on Thursday, Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson for the APC Governorship Campaign Council, urged Melaye to cease making excuses for his impending defeat.
Fanwo, however, characterized Melaye’s claims as an outdated method of warfare, denying the governor’s involvement in importing troublemakers to incite chaos.
The state Commissioner for Information also encouraged Kogi residents to vote for the APC without fear of violence.
The statement conveyed, “Dino Melaye, whose antics contributed to the turmoil in the PDP, leading to the exposure of key leaders and officials of the party at all levels, is well aware that he has no chance in the upcoming election. Hence, he resorts to his usual tactics of raising false alarms and making baseless allegations.”
“His game is up. We challenge the abandoned PDP gubernatorial candidate to present his allegations to the security agencies and be prepared to substantiate them.”
“With two senators, six House of Representatives members, twenty-two House of Assembly members, twenty-one council chairmen, and all ward councillors in the state, the APC possesses the necessary political structure to secure a victory in a free and fair gubernatorial election.”
