APC’s Strong Confidence: Ngige Predicts Party’s Takeover In Anambra Come 2024

Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, foresees the All Progressives Congress (APC) assuming power from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra by 2025. Speaking at his residence in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area, during the distribution of palliatives to party members, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly, Ngige acknowledged the existence of two APC factions in the state. Ngige acknowledged the influx of new members into the party since 2021, likening the party to a church open to all seeking salvation or supporting the government in power. However, he pointed out challenges arising from the reluctance of newcomers to acknowledge the contributions of old members who had supported the party through various political transitions.

Highlighting the party’s historical evolution from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ngige emphasized the need for unity among members. Despite disagreements in the 2021 election, he expressed optimism that the party’s leadership, comprised of seasoned politicians, would address internal issues and position APC to take over Anambra in 2025.

Ngige cautioned against electoral malpractices, stating that the era of manipulating election results in hotel rooms was over. He stressed the importance of hard work for victory and encouraged party members to uphold party principles, demonstrating tolerance and unity.

While disclosing that he was on sabbatical and resting, Ngige hinted at deciding on his next course of action by May 2025. Despite the challenges, he urged party members to remain steadfast and optimistic about the future, emphasizing the need for unity and commitment to the party’s objectives.
