Aregbesola Joins Forces With Atiku! Inside Details Of Explosive Coalition Plot For 2027

A former Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Osun State, Lowo Adebiyi, has confirmed that ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola has now formally aligned with the coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Adebiyi, a known associate of Aregbesola, made this known during a weekend interview with Punch, following Atiku’s visit to Aregbesola’s residence in Amuta, Ilesa, on Friday.

Earlier, a viral video had captured Atiku, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, and other associates being warmly received by Aregbesola and his supporters, complete with drummers and praise singers chanting, “2027, Tinubu yio lule ni!” (meaning “In 2027, Tinubu will be defeated!”).

Providing insight into the nature of the visit, Adebiyi, who was present at the meeting, stated, “All I can confirm for now is that Aregbesola is now part of Atiku’s coalition.”

When questioned on whether Atiku and Aregbesola specifically discussed an anti-Tinubu alliance and strategies for the 2027 elections, Adebiyi, speaking in Yoruba, replied: “The former Vice President and his team visited Aregbesola, and we hosted them to breakfast—nothing more, nothing less. Be patient, more details will emerge soon.”

Another associate of Aregbesola, who requested anonymity due to a media gag imposed on those present, described the gathering simply as “a private breakfast meeting.”

The insider added, “Atiku and his team were in Ilesa primarily for the coronation of the new Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup. There wasn’t any exclusive private meeting at Aregbesola’s home. Everyone was together in the living room before sharing breakfast. Later, Atiku, Sambo, Aregbesola, and close aides departed together in the host’s bus for the reception at Ilesa Grammar School.

“They arrived at Ilesa Grammar School around noon, after which Atiku and his group proceeded to the Owa’s palace—though Aregbesola didn’t accompany them. If any private discussion occurred, it would likely have been during their joint ride from Amuta to the school.”
