The Director-General of NBC, Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, conveyed this warning in a letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of Arise Global Limited.
The letter, titled “Preponderance of Derogatory and Incendiary Remarks: Final Warning,” was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.
In the letter, Ilelah expressed the commission’s concern over the frequent use of incendiary remarks on Arise News. He emphasized the broadcaster’s significant responsibility in managing the guests who appear on the station’s programs.
The letter cited specific instances of derogatory and incendiary remarks made by guests on the station, emphasizing the need for the broadcaster to exercise greater control over the content aired.
