Arrest Made: Delta Police Capture Six Suspected Robbers, Weapons Recovered

The Delta State Police Command has officially reported the apprehension of armed robbers accused of terrorizing various areas of the state in separate operations this past week. Edafe explained that acting on credible intelligence, the Command’s Special Squad raided a base in Sapele where suspected troublemakers, responsible for disturbing the peace in Ughelli, Warri, and Sapele, were apprehended. Leading the operation, ASP Julius Robinson oversaw the arrest of Blessing Atima (23 years old, identified as the gang leader), Destiny Okpako (19 years old), and Wisdom Akpohiro (20 years old). The confiscated items included a Beretta pistol, a locally made gun, three machetes, as well as phones and ATM cards belonging to victims. Several victims positively identified the suspects and reclaimed their belongings.

Additionally, on May 3, 2024, RRS Operatives acting on another tip-off, raided an uncompleted building along Issele-Asagba Express Way, apprehending Usman Bello (40 years old) and seizing a locally fabricated Beretta Pistol. Bello, who had pretended to be mentally unstable, is now in custody.

Further operations led by the Asaba Area Commander on June 4 targeted suspects who reportedly crossed the Niger to Asaba at night to burglarize shops. Undercover operatives successfully arrested Ameachi Micheal (42 years old) and Ogochukwu Ogbode (38 years old).

All arrested suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing according to the statement released by the Command.
