The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, apprehended Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a 46-year-old resident of Adu Town, Ajebo Road, Mile 6, Abeokuta, for attempted murder, as per a press release issued on Friday by Commander Soji Ganzallo’s office, through Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations.

Ogunrinde was arrested at Ijaye Garage, Abeokuta, on Thursday, June 6, 2024, around 2:40pm. According to the statement, Ogunrinde, a butcher and farmer, posed as a passenger and requested Kosu Daniel (aka “Jeje”) to transport him to Olubo Town on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at noon.

He allegedly attacked Kosu Daniel with a knife, injuring him in the neck and arm, and fled with Daniel’s motorcycle. Motivated by suspicions of an affair between Daniel and his wife two months prior, Ogunrinde confessed to attempting to eliminate Daniel, believing he had succeeded until learning Daniel was hospitalized at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The suspect and the recovered motorbike have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, SWAT, Magbon, for further investigation and potential prosecution.

Commander Ganzallo commended the Corps for apprehending Ogunrinde, emphasizing its role in deterring criminal activities within society.
