Arteta Commits Future To Arsenal With New Contract Deal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reached a final agreement on a new and improved contract with the Premier League champions, committing his future to the club beyond the end of the current season.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the agreement follows several months of negotiations between Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy. While the exact length of the new contract has not been confirmed, the extension is expected to keep the Spanish coach at the Emirates for at least his 10th year since taking charge in December 2019.

Arteta’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but discussions over a fresh deal had been progressing for months before the two sides reached a final agreement.

The new contract is also expected to significantly improve Arteta’s financial terms, with reports indicating a substantial increase on his current £10 million annual salary and additional performance-related bonuses.

Arteta had previously reassured Arsenal supporters that he wanted to remain at the club amid speculation surrounding his future. Speaking about the negotiations, the manager said fans had no reason to worry because he wanted to continue working at Arsenal, adding that he was extremely happy and grateful for the people around him.

Since arriving at Arsenal in December 2019, Arteta has overseen a significant transformation of the club. His tenure culminated in Arsenal ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title by winning the 2025/26 championship.

The Spaniard has also guided Arsenal to sustained competition at the highest level in England and Europe, with the club continuing to build around his long-term project.

The new agreement now removes uncertainty over Arteta’s immediate future and is expected to keep him in charge as Arsenal seek to defend their Premier League title and pursue further success domestically and in Europe.
