Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has leveled accusations against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming they are trying to compromise the judiciary.

This comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the APC, as the winner of the presidential election.

Among the grounds for their challenge is Tinubu’s alleged failure to secure at least 25 percent of the votes in the federal capital territory (FCT).

Tinubu’s counsel, Wole Olanipekun, defended the victory, stating that the FCT is considered the 37th state for electoral purposes.

However, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, accused the APC and Tinubu’s agents of attempting to intimidate the judiciary and harass the judges involved in the petition.

Atiku drew attention to previous incidents, including the removal of the CJN and the lack of conviction of judges accused of corruption, alleging a pattern of judiciary intimidation by the APC.

He called on the international community to be alerted to what he perceives as a plot to manipulate the election tribunal and “steal the mandate of over 200 million people.”
