Atiku Reveals What Transpired During Closed-Door Talks With EU Envoy Ahead Of 2027

Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election, made this known in a post on his account on Monday after hosting the EU envoy at his residence in Abuja.
According to the former Vice President, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss a range of matters affecting Nigeria and its relationship with the European Union, with particular focus on preparations for the next general elections.
Atiku also expressed appreciation to Ambassador Mignot for the visit and commended the European Union for its continued support for democratic governance in Nigeria, including efforts aimed at promoting free, fair, peaceful and credible elections.
He further acknowledged the EU’s contributions toward strengthening Nigeria’s economy.
“This afternoon, I had the honour of hosting His Excellency Ambassador Gautier Mignot, Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, at my residence in Abuja.
“We engaged in productive discussions on issues of mutual interest between Nigeria and the EU, with particular emphasis on the upcoming general elections.
“I expressed my appreciation for the Ambassador’s visit and for the European Union’s ongoing commitment to supporting free, fair, peaceful, and credible elections, as well as efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economy,” Atiku wrote.
