Atiku’s Aide Fires At INEC: ‘Only Full 2023 Results Can Bury Election Ghosts

Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, to publish the full results of the 2023 presidential election before leaving office.

In a post on , shared on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Ibe urged Yakubu to summon the courage to release detailed polling unit results—even if they had been tampered with—arguing that doing so would finally put to rest the lingering controversies over the election.

According to him, the disclosure would help clear doubts surrounding the February 25 polls, which culminated in the declaration of Bola Tinubu as winner in the early hours of March 1, 2023.

“I hope that before he concludes his tenure as Chairman of @inecnigeria, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu will find the courage to release the comprehensive results of the 2023 presidential election, beginning from the polling units. It doesn’t matter if the figures have been altered—let Nigerians see them, warts and all.

“That’s the only way to permanently put to rest the ghost of 2023 and the infamous 2 a.m. announcement of results on March 1 by Prof. ‘Go To Court’ Mahmood Yakubu,” Ibe wrote.
