Attempted Murder Suspects Captured By Ogun Law Enforcement

Three individuals, Monsuru Musa, Adija Monsuru, and Shehu Dikko, have been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a commercial motorcycle rider in the Afonta area of Abeokuta. The victim, identified as Tijanni, suffered severe injuries to his head, neck, and lip during the attack that occurred last Monday evening, March 4.

The incident unfolded when Monsuru hired Tijanni to take her from Lafenwa in Abeokuta to the Soyeye area. However, upon reaching an isolated spot just before the Soyeye community, Monsuru requested a stop, claiming she needed to contact a friend traveling the same route.

Shortly after the call, Musa and Dikko arrived at the scene and joined Monsuru on the motorcycle. As Tijanni prepared to resume the journey, Musa and Dikko allegedly attempted to strangle him with a rope tied to his neck. Simultaneously, Monsuru reportedly struck the motorcyclist on the head with a large piece of wooden plank, prompting him to cry out for help.

The commotion attracted other motorcyclists, residents, and a police team who swiftly intervened, apprehending the three suspects before they could escape through a nearby bush.

Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the incident, revealing that the arrested individuals were part of a notorious syndicate with intentions to steal the motorcycle. Omolola added that the victim had been transported to a hospital for necessary medical treatment.
