Earlier today, Bashir El-Rufai responded to an X user who questioned whether his father, former governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, had stolen public funds during his tenure.
A few months ago, the State House of Assembly accused El-Rufai’s administration of embezzling N432 billion and leaving the state with significant debt obligations, as previously reported by LIB.
Last night, an X user took to Bashir’s comment section to inquire if his father was guilty of these allegations. In response, Bashir stated that he has no idea and that only his father and Allah know the truth. He added, however, that the man he knows as his father is not a thief.
