This appeal follows a recent incident in which approximately nine members of a local vigilante group known as Yan Ba Beli were killed by suspected bandits in Gamji village, located in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The vigilantes were reportedly ambushed by the bandits while in the forest.

During a condolence visit to the families of the deceased vigilantes, Honourable Bala Abdullahi Dan, Chairman of the House Committee, delivered this call to action.

The committee also issued a warning to traditional rulers, advising them not to offer shelter or allocate lands to criminal elements, which could potentially support or protect them.

Ibrahim Zubairu Mato, the caretaker chairman of Ningi LGA, emphasized that the visit was intended to strengthen unity and cooperation between the local council and the House of Assembly.
