BBNaija Star Queen Mercy Reveals Terrifying Ordeal: Family Escapes Death By Inches

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has recounted a terrifying experience in which her family narrowly escaped death after a POP ceiling collapsed in her sitting room.

In a detailed Instagram post on Wednesday, Queen Mercy explained that she returned home around 4 a.m. after an all-night shoot for her friend’s Guinness World Record project when the ceiling suddenly gave way.

The reality star revealed that her younger sister and nanny usually sleep in the sitting room after sewing, but by what she described as divine intervention, they had not gone to bed that night.

“The POP ceiling collapsed while they were still awake, forcing them to run for their lives,” Queen Mercy said. She added that this incident was the second in a few weeks, following a prior POP collapse in her car garage.

She wrote:

“7:58am God said, not this family. I had worked late into the night at the airport, picking up my friend who had just arrived in Nigeria for her Guinness World Record project. Because of time constraints, we had to shoot all night. I got home around 4 a.m. My little sister was still sewing. I asked my workers to sleep in the sitting room and leave once morning came. They chose to go home, but I persuaded my friend to stay, as it wasn’t safe to walk the streets at night. By 6 a.m., she left.”

“Meanwhile, my younger sister and my nanny were still awake sewing. Normally, they would sleep in the sitting room after finishing, but thank God they didn’t today. The POP ceiling collapsed while they were still awake, and they literally had to run for their lives. When my mum rushed in to tell me, my first thought was, ‘Where are Doctor @dr_brightie and my nanny?’ She said they were upstairs. My blood pressure instantly came down.”

“A few weeks ago, it was my garage POP that fell. Now, it’s the sitting room. Amid all this, I’m coordinating my friend @kosi_ani’s Guinness World Record project starting this Friday. My mind is everywhere—figuring out how to keep my family safe while ensuring the project’s success. Dear Lord, I am grateful for Your love and protection.”
