Benue Bandit Raid: 23 Homes Set Ablaze, Three Individuals Shot

Philip Ebenyakwu, the Chairman of the Local Government, reported on Monday that three individuals sustained gunshot wounds and are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Ebenyakwu explained, “The attackers, who are armed herders from Kogi State, have been persistently targeting Agatu West. The area is particularly vulnerable due to its proximity to Kogi State.”

He continued, “On Sunday, these armed herders targeted Egwuma, burning down 23 houses and stealing three motorcycles. While there were no fatalities, three villagers are currently undergoing treatment for gunshot injuries.”

The chairman praised the security forces stationed in the area, noting that naval officers had recently seized a machine boat from invaders originating from Nasarawa State.
