Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has reported a decrease in food inflation in Nigeria. He noted significant drops in the prices of essential items such as yam and tomatoes. According to Onanuga’s update on X, a large basket of tomatoes at Ketu market now costs around ₦55,000 to ₦60,000, down from ₦150,000 a few months ago. Similarly, the price of a large basket of habanero pepper has decreased to about ₦25,000, from ₦55,000 during the peak of the price surge.
