A significant fire broke out at the Sokoto State Police Command on Saturday, consuming several offices within the facility. According to Naija News, the blaze began around 5 a.m. and severely damaged the offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Administration, the Chaplain, and the Chief Imam of the Command.

The Command’s Spokesman, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, confirmed the incident, revealing that the fire affected part of the single-story administration block. The damaged offices include those of the Assistant Commissioner of Administration, the confidential office, the Chaplain, and the Chief Superintendent. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Rufa’i noted that there was no foul play suspected as there were no personnel present in the affected section at the time of the fire. He added that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze and assess the extent of the damage.
