Bob Manuel Reveals Reason He Steers Clear Of Social Media, Says Choice Was Intentional

In a post shared on Instagram, the actor said his decision is influenced by the way social media discourse has evolved, particularly in Nigeria.

He noted that many trending topics online often have little or no connection to the real-life challenges people face, yet they attract significant attention and consume time and data.

Udokwu also pointed out that social media platforms are frequently filled with trolling, insults, and unnecessary arguments, making the space less conducive for meaningful engagement.

As a result, he said he prefers to stay away from active participation most of the time and instead observe discussions quietly.

In his words: “Social media has become something else in Nigeria. Most times, things that have little or no relevance to the day-to-day struggles of the people go viral and consume valuable time and data from the same traumatised people!

“It baffles me! Too much dragging and trolling everywhere! I really don’t regret my choice to stay quiet and read from the sidelines while the job is done… I am sure you would agree with me on this?
