The process was halted at about 11:50 p.m. after results from 25 states had already been presented.

The party announced that collation and the declaration of the eventual winner would resume on Wednesday.

The exercise, which took place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, is scheduled to continue later in the evening.

So far, the results released indicate that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is leading ahead of other contenders, including former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

Both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen had earlier rejected the conduct of the primaries, alleging irregularities and manipulation during the exercise.

In a related development, the ADC also urged the aggrieved aspirants to pursue their complaints through official party structures and established electoral procedures rather than making public accusations while collation was still ongoing.

The party maintained that there was no evidence to support claims that the presidential primary was rigged in favour of any candidate.

ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He stressed that since the collation process had not been completed, it was premature to draw conclusions about the allegations raised by some aspirants.

According to him, the party expects a clearer and final outcome once the collation exercise resumes and is concluded.
