Breaking: Alex Otti Insists His Government Has No Political Backers

Otti made the statement while addressing Abia residents in a video currently circulating online.

He emphasised that there is no godfather controlling the state’s affairs, noting that his emergence in office was by divine intervention. According to him, his government is fully committed to serving the people, adding that the administration is still at its early stages.

“We have no choice but to work for our people. We are just beginning,” he said.

The governor also assured residents that they would see increased infrastructural development in the near future.

In a related development, Otti recently criticised members of the opposition for refusing to acknowledge his administration’s achievements because he does not belong to their political party.

Speaking at a reception held in honour of the Abia State Attorney-General, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN), in Isuikwuato, Otti remarked that dishonesty is not a trait associated with the Igbo people.

He questioned the credibility of individuals who attribute projects executed by his administration—particularly road construction—to previous governments, suggesting that such claims are misleading.

Otti reiterated that his focus remains on delivering more results for the people, stressing that performance and service delivery are the best responses to opposition criticism.
