He explained that key requirements for anyone seeking a ticket include proper party membership and financial eligibility, adding that no qualified member would be shut out of the process.

Otti made this known on Thursday in Abuja after attending the first meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), where he observed proceedings as the party’s national leader.

He stated that anyone who meets the necessary conditions and wishes to contest will be given the opportunity, emphasizing that democracy allows open participation while voters ultimately decide who leads.

According to him, the Labour Party presidential ticket for 2027 remains open to all eligible members, as the party continues to strengthen its internal democratic structures.

He also expressed confidence in the newly constituted leadership that emerged from the party’s recent national convention, saying they are well-positioned to reposition the party for future elections.

Otti congratulated the National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, and members of the 13-man committee, noting that the strong attendance at the meeting reflected unity and shared commitment within the party.

He added that the party is focused on improving its internal processes, including primaries and voting systems, as part of preparations for upcoming elections.

Addressing concerns about internal divisions, Otti said the turnout at the convention showed broad participation from over 25 state chairmen, including some previously aligned with different leadership blocs, signaling growing unity and consolidation within the party.
