Breaking: APC Announces Official Governorship Candidate For Osun 2026 Elections
Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has been officially confirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the Osun 2026 elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Oyebamiji’s confirmation came at the conclusion of the party’s governorship primary held on Saturday in Osogbo.
He secured the backing of 1,660 delegates after being nominated by fellow aspirant Mr. Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by Senator Babajide Omoworare, another aspirant.
Kunle Adegoke, a former governorship hopeful, announced Oyebamiji’s affirmation, explaining that it followed the directive of the APC National Working Committee and that the other aspirants had stepped down in his favor.
Adegoke stated, “I, Kunle Adegoke, with the consent of all other aspirants, move the motion that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji be adopted as the consensus candidate to contest the 2026 governorship election. I so move.”
The Chairman of the primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, then called for a voice vote, and the delegates unanimously approved Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
“By the authority vested in me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party,” he declared.
