Breaking: APC Snubs Gbenga Daniel, Throws Weight Behind Dapo Abiodun For 2027 Senate Race

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogun East Senatorial District have endorsed Dapo Abiodun as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Senate race.

The decision was made on Monday during a major political meeting held at Adeola Odutola Hall in Ijebu-Ode, which attracted party leaders and grassroots delegates from across the district.

According to a statement from the governor’s media office, the gathering recorded strong attendance from key stakeholders, including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, former and serving local government chairmen, councillors from all wards, as well as past and present state and national legislators. Women leaders, youth groups, and other community representatives were also present.

During the meeting, party leaders expressed confidence in Governor Abiodun’s capacity to effectively represent Ogun East at the National Assembly. They further resolved to formally communicate the endorsement to him and begin mobilising support ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, stated that the governor’s performance in office and his efforts in promoting unity within the party were key factors that influenced the endorsement.
