A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive, in Kuje Correctional Centre pending the outcome of his bail application. Justice Emeka Nwite made the decision after Gambaryan pleaded not guilty to money laundering accusations brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday.
The trial has been adjourned until April 18 to consider Gambaryan’s bail request, with the trial scheduled to commence on May 2.
Binance Holdings Limited, a cryptocurrency firm, and its head of financial crime compliance, Tigran Gambaryan, were charged by the EFCC with money laundering. The arraignment took place before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
