BREAKING: Chibuzo Okereke Clinches Labour Party Presidential Ticket For 2027

Okereke emerged as the party’s flagbearer through a consensus process involving fellow aspirants, party leaders, members, and key stakeholders. His candidacy was formally ratified in Abuja on May 30, 2026.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, Dr. Okereke was described as an accomplished governance specialist, policy strategist, and advocate for institutional reforms, with a strong track record in public policy, legislative governance, and national development.

According to the statement, he currently serves as President of ERGAF-AFRICA Legislative Governance Innovation and Policy Hub, a leading institution focused on policy research and legislative development. He also works as a legislative consultant to several committees and senior lawmakers in the National Assembly.

In addition, Okereke is a Resident Lecturer in the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Miva Open University, Abuja, where he helps train future leaders and professionals in public administration and policymaking.

Academically, he holds a doctorate degree in Legislative Governance Studies and a master’s degree in Public Administration and Legislative Studies, both obtained with distinction.

The party noted that his extensive experience in governance, accountability, and public-sector reforms has earned him recognition as a respected commentator and analyst on both local and international media platforms.

Labour Party leaders further stated that Okereke’s dedication to youth development, educational advancement, and democratic reform aligns with the type of responsible, transparent, and transformative leadership needed to address Nigeria’s current challenges and drive national progress.
