BREAKING: Drama Rocks ADC As National Vice Chairman Suspended Over “Gross Misconduct

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the suspension of its National Vice Chairman (South-South) and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani, for alleged anti-party activities and actions considered detrimental to the unity and progress of the party.

The decision was reached following a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the ADC in Cross River State on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, October 20, and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, James Otudor, the party said Usani’s recent conduct was “inconsistent with the provisions of the ADC Constitution.”

“In line with the party’s disciplinary procedures, Dr. Usani’s suspension will remain in effect pending the outcome of a formal investigation by the relevant party organs,” the statement read.

According to the SWC, several petitions accused Usani of engaging in anti-party activities, defying constituted authority, and taking actions that could damage the ADC’s image ahead of future elections.

The committee also expressed discontent over the appointment of Ms. Jackie Wayas as Deputy National Publicity Secretary, alleging that the state chapter was not consulted and that she has shown little commitment to the growth of the party in Cross River.

Consequently, the SWC called on the national leadership to review her appointment and replace her with a “competent, credible, and media-savvy” party loyalist from the state.

In a related development, the committee warned members of the Coalition Movement who have yet to complete their ADC registration to do so within seven days or risk exclusion from party leadership and decision-making.

“The ADC remains committed to discipline, justice, and accountability. We urge all members to remain calm and allow the party’s internal mechanisms to run their full course,” the statement concluded.
