Breaking: El-Rufai Back In ICPC Detention As Case Deepens

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been returned to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following court proceedings held in Kaduna on Tuesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The development comes just days after he was temporarily released from custody.

El-Rufai had earlier been granted temporary release on March 27, 2026, following the death of his mother.

He was later re-arraigned on Tuesday as legal proceedings in the cases against him resumed.

The former governor first appeared before the Kaduna State High Court in connection with a separate charge filed by the anti-graft agency. However, the hearing could not proceed due to the absence of the second defendant, leading the court to adjourn the case until April 10, 2026.

After the adjournment, El-Rufai was taken to the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where his bail application was scheduled to be heard.

The court had earlier fixed March 31, 2026, for the consideration of the bail request.
