The price cuts were observed at major outlets in Abuja on Tuesday, where fuel prices dropped noticeably from previous levels.

This marks a decline from earlier rates, which ranged between ₦1,370 and ₦1,390 per litre—representing a reduction of about ₦90 to ₦94 per litre across the affected stations.

The development follows the NNPCL’s recent reduction of its petrol price to ₦1,295 per litre from ₦1,361 per litre, a move that has prompted a ripple effect among independent marketers and major fuel retailers.

Similarly, Dangote Refinery had earlier announced a ₦85 reduction in its gantry price, bringing it down to ₦1,200 per litre.

The refinery had previously increased prices multiple times in March 2026, largely due to fluctuations in global crude oil markets driven by geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

The latest price cuts are expected to influence fuel pricing nationwide as marketers continue to adjust to changing supply costs.
