BREAKING: First Oil Tankers Begin Fuel Loading At Dangote Refinery (VIDEO)

The Dangote Refinery has commenced preparations to load its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. The Dangote Group shared this news in a video posted on its official X account (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

The announcement read, “HAPPENING NOW: First set of trucks set for loading of PMS at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.”

This marks a significant moment, as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) revealed on Saturday that over 300 trucks had already arrived at the refinery, ready to transport locally produced petrol. It’s the first time in several years that domestically refined fuel will be distributed in Nigeria.

Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, confirmed that agreements had been finalized for NNPCL to begin lifting petrol from the Dangote Refinery.

Petroleum marketers have expressed optimism, stating that this move will alleviate fuel scarcity and eventually lead to a reduction in petrol prices.
