Breaking: Gov. Okpebholo Shakes Up Edo Leadership With Fresh Appointment

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the appointment of Professor (Mrs.) Eunice Eboserehimen Omonzejie as the new Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The announcement was made in a Special Government Statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, who confirmed that the appointment takes effect immediately.

According to the release, Prof. Omonzejie was chosen from a shortlist of three candidates recommended by the University’s Governing Council.

The state government described her appointment as a recognition of her academic excellence, administrative competence, and dedication to the growth of AAU. She was also congratulated and tasked with deploying her wealth of experience to strengthen the institution’s mission of producing globally competitive graduates and driving innovation.

Prof. Omonzejie is a respected scholar of French and Francophone African Literatures and has served for years in the Department of Modern Languages at AAU. A prolific researcher and editor, her work spans African and Francophone literary studies, gender studies, and cultural studies.

She has also been an active leader, serving as President of the Ambrose Alli University Chapter of the National Association of Women Academics (NAWACS), where she championed mentorship, research, and advocacy for female academics and students.

Her publications include co-editing seminal works such as French Language in Nigeria: Essays in Honour of UFTAN Pacesetters and Language Matters in Contemporary West Africa. She is also the author of Women Novelists in Francophone Black Africa: Views, Reviews and Interviews.
