He also ordered the immediate redeployment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, who had been appointed Force spokesperson just three months ago shortly after Disu assumed office as the 23rd Inspector General of Police. Placid has now been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
The changes are part of a wider administrative reshuffle within the Nigeria Police Force.
Until his new appointment, Victor served as Officer-in-Charge of the Complaints Response Unit (CRU).
The postings were contained in a Police Wireless Message signed by the Force Secretary and circulated to relevant departments, commands, and formations across the country.
Sources at Force Headquarters say the shake-up forms part of routine personnel adjustments aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening service delivery within the Force’s communication and investigative units.
The circular stated that the changes are intended to enhance operational effectiveness across the organisation.
DCP Placid confirmed his redeployment when contacted by Premium Times, although the police have not provided detailed reasons for the latest reshuffle.
