The Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Mr. Olayiwola Komolafe, disclosed this in a statement released on Saturday.

He explained that the decision followed a directive from the Minister of Works, David Umahi, instructing the contractor handling the project, Messrs Arab Contractors, to return to key sections of the road and fast-track completion of rehabilitation works.

According to the ministry, the affected corridors include the stretch from Ikorodu Roundabout to Sabo Junction in Lagos, as well as the Cement to Coca-Cola axis inward Sagamu.

Komolafe stated that motorists moving from Ikorodu toward Sagamu will be diverted through a counterflow arrangement within the construction zone while work progresses.

He added that the reconstruction is expected to last about three months to allow proper completion of the project and adequate curing of the rigid pavement.

The controller also noted that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be deployed to manage traffic and reduce congestion along the affected routes during the construction period.

He appealed to motorists and commuters to cooperate with traffic officials and security personnel to ease movement and ensure safety.

Komolafe acknowledged that the project may cause temporary inconvenience but assured that efforts are ongoing to complete the road rehabilitation as quickly as possible.
