In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the commission said the third and final phase of the CVR will commence on Monday, May 11, 2026, and conclude on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Haruna urged eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18 or missed earlier registration phases, to take advantage of the exercise.
He also advised already registered voters who wish to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or update their personal details to either use the commission’s online portal or visit INEC offices at the state and local government levels nationwide.
As part of preparations for the 2027 elections, the commission will display the voter register for public scrutiny between July 23 and July 29, 2026. This process will allow citizens to make claims or raise objections to ensure the register is accurate and credible.
INEC noted that the second phase of the exercise was paused on April 17, 2026, to enable a clean-up of the voter register following its publication.
The commission reassured Nigerians that all arrangements have been put in place for a smooth exercise and called on citizens to participate actively in strengthening the country’s electoral process.
